Something different: apple and chocolate muffins.

Hi guys!

Nothing artsy today, but some serious baking. Somehow I really like baking cookies, cupcakes and muffins, but only if I have time to do so.  I do not like rushing in the kitching like my mum always does. Baking should be relaxing, not stressing! So today I have time and so I decided to make muffins. I’ve been reluctant to bake some muffins as last time they turned out totaly wrong. The dough seemed to have risen, but when I bited the muffins they all had a giant air bubble inside and the dough around was soggy and heavy. Not a big succes, I can tell you. Today I found the courage to try again with these awesome apple and chocolate muffins.

Here’s the basic muffin recipe I used (12 muffins)

  • 280 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt (I didn’t add this)
  • 120 g sugar + 16 g vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • 90g butter

I melted the butter and let it cool. Added the dry ingredients together. Added the wet ingredients together. Put the wet with the dry and most important, I didn’t stir too much.

I have a pan for 12 muffins that I prepped with cupcakecups. I added a layer of the mixture and some apple pieces to each cup and then some more batter. I finished them with more apple on top. I did the same for the chocholate muffins. I know people often mix the chocolate or apple in the batter, you can do that instead.

Now they go in the oven at 200°C. See how big they get? Cool!

Flexmarkers color combinations

Hi!

I bought my flexmarkers a month ago. It was very hard for me to pick the colours I wanted. Because how do you know which colours work well together? I googled ‘Flexmarker color combinations’ but that didn’t help me a lot. So I hope to help anyone who is in the same situation.

Here are some good combinations ( always written from light to dark):

orange yellow

buttercup and tulip yellow work well together and can be combined with gold, amber and pumpkin.  I wouldn’t buy both pumpkin and amber if you want to start with a small amount of markers as they are very very similar.

Greens

aniseed works good with pear green.

Apple, forest green and pine work good too.

reds

I bought sunset, lipstick red and firebrick. Sunset and lipstick red each go well with the dark firebrick but sunset and lipstick red are not pretty together.

Browns

Nutmeg is a very good hair color that I combine with auburn and henna. I do feel I still need an even darker brown.

Blues

I picked duck egg, navy blue, cloud blue and sapphire. These are not very good together, I do not know which colors are.Cool grey 5

Greys

cool grey 3 and  are fine together, but you might consider buying cool grey 4 too.

Hugs,

Moon
